Birthday pictures at your doorstep, at last!
Sorry for the major delay dudes... it was a hectic week and I think my Mom is still trying to get her head out of you know what.
Well, I'll TRY not to use more than 30 pictures and I consider it a crime but still, we'll live. The pictures will be divided into three parts. One would be the party in general, obviously, that'll include opening presents to make you jealous. The other part would consist of the cake and finally, family shots.
THE PARTY
I got a lot of things, especially books and toys, and our one-bedroom apartment is slowly losing space but still, who's unhappy, not me for sure!
Aunty Keri blowing bubbles and I'm trying to find the right time to grab 'em.
Ah-ha!!
I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the happiness of my Parents. They make me proud for who they are, what they want out of me and how they immeasurably love me. Thanks Mom and Dad, I'm lucky.
The bird's eye view of opening presents.
"I remember what to do... I think." Jahren was a big (a little bit too much) help in this whole ordeal of ripping papers open. Thanks Jah!
See how he looks on? Making sure that I open each present without missing a thing.
Lost into presents and see little grubs (not mine) helping me.
Elmo rocks (literally)! Actually, I gotta bang his head near his eyes, kinda poke him, and he'd start shaking all silly. It's fun biting his eyes and having the vibration spread into my mouth and teeth. I tried doing it with my Mom but instead she yelped, "OW!" and said "That hurts!" Opps.
The real party goers-- Tyler, Me, Giovanni and Dylan. We're the 2006 babies (with exception of Dylan but he's 2 weeks older than me). Giovanni is the youngest, 4 months old, but is the biggest of us all.
Chatting up a storm and trying to see who could grab Gio's thick hair.
Okay let's get to the best part....
THE ROBOT CAKE!
Uncle Kurt made it from scratch-- he made carrot cake and used bananas as a substitute for sugar. The frosting is fondant with crushed blueberries for color. Dad did the decoration and added all those details and believe me when I say this, it TASTES AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS!! It was a crime to eat it but the guilt was killed instantly when sinking our teeth into it.
Cool, huh?
It got a little bit crazy when I was hauled to a near hovering state above the lit robot cake and everyone started singing, loudly mind you, some silly Happy to you song and all I wanted to do was to touch the candles.
I did get closer to the candle but was told to "blow" (whatever that means!) and it suddenly disappeared, one by one. So much for touching the little fires.
One more hope before Mom totally extinguished my chance when she was on "THREE!!!" (everyone hollered that).
Then they decapitated the Robot-- not a pleasant sight.
Ooo, for me? *sinks my finger into the head*
Hmmm.... not sure what to think of this.
Need a second try.... (I was surprised that nobody was stopping me)
I think my opinion of the cake is pretty much self-explanatory in this picture-- heh heh.
"This is really good!!!!!!" Mmmhmmm. Thanks Uncle Kurt (and Daddy)
My first birthday cake rocked but I was starting to get really tired which would explain the glazed look of my eyes.
This was one of the last shots of me with my Family after the cake.
Everything became a blur after that-- with the mixture of exhaustion and sugar high, I didn't go to sleep until 4 hours later and through the entire time, I think I was happily half-awake. That day wouldn't have been wonderful if it weren't for my Family.
FAMILY SHOTS
The whole day was spent with my family and some friends. I got to hang out with my Uncles and my Aunts-- Especially Aunty Keri who kept kidnapping me and wouldn't "share". My Grandparents from both sides were also there and cousins too. Jahren made sure he help me with opening, actually, ripping the wrappings and Mally tried her best in restraining herself from being as paper-ripping-happy as Jahren. Anyway, enough words--- enjoy the pictures!
Uncle John, he makes me laugh and whenever I'm with him, I don't really think about Mom or Dad!
Aunty Keri swinging me, I couldn't stop laughing.
Trying to pin Jahren to the floor but he let me win too easily.
Here I am with my Grandparents from the East and my Parents right before the Cake time
Another shot with another batch of Grandparents of the West
Three generations-- Grandpa West, me in between and Uncle John plus Mommy on the sides (and Daddy looks on). Can you see how much fun we're all having?
More evidence of Aunty Keri's kidnapping... this time, Grandma West tries to tickle me to death and I'm clinging onto my dear life.
I got to share this "series" that I really love. It's of my Aunty Cat, Mom and me... we're getting our pictures taken and I was really tired. My Aunty Cat took all those pictures and wanted some pictures of us together before I headed home. She was in a teasing mood and so was I. But first, see how tired I am?
The remaining pictures pretty much tell the story:
Anyway. The END!
Thanks Mom and Dad for bringing me into this world, into this fun-filled family and for loving me so much.
MWAH!
