I can stack up high and I camped for the 1st time too!
I had lots of fun last weekend! Be sure to check out
Before I dive into my weekend, I now have shown interest in legos. I would sit for some time and try to match colors or size as I build a towering tower. Here's are few pictures for you to see what I mean.
Working hard to try and match the yellow and orange blocks together.
See my tower? Yes, I did it all by myself-- mom helped by making sure it didn't topple onto me like my first few tries did.
(p.s. that's Lord of the Rings: Return of the Kings in the background, for some reason Mom kept crying when she watched that movie).
What Mom?? Seriously dude, I'm trying to focus.
Alright, enough of my genius mind at work, let me talk all about camping!!
It was a blast! I got to walk all day long, all night long and all cold morning long. brr. It was cold I'll grant you that however, the air, the freedom, the people and the food-- everything was crisp, fresh, refreshing, alive and real.
We arrived Friday night when I was fast asleep-- so imagine my surprise when I woke up being inside a enclosed tent. When I first saw outside I was so shocked and at the same time, enthralled that I clung onto my Mom tightly for awhile. It took me a few moments or longer to realize that I was in a good place, a really good place.
We spent the entire day walking, eating, hiking, drinking, eating, laughing, playing and hanging out. I hung out with Jahren and Mally a lot also Daddy took me for walks a lot while Mom was busy cooking dinner.
We went out of our campsite and trekked at a very short-lived trail to see a trickling waterfall- yes, can you detect a tone of sarcasm with a hint of disappointment? Actually, what saved the day (the trail) was the gang we hung out with and the big trees we saw. The redwoods were so big, vast, tall, huge and "bountiful" is the best word I can think of.
The picture above is of us three together inside a stump of a redwood.
Daddy and I walking together.
The gang we were with, Uncle John was one of them. I love Uncle "Clown"!
I wanted to walk like a big boy but the trail was packed with other tourists and my Parents didn't want me to hog the trail so, they kept "helping" me with walking up the steep hill.
Woah, more strangers walking past us?
Mama, I can do this, Daddy, please let me go?
Okay, you guys left me no choice... I'm doing my "I protest!" stance until you guys let me go on my own!
Wheeeeeeeeee! I'm FREEEEEEEEEEEE.
Okay, seriously. We walked all the way up to the top (a very tiny fraction of a half mile) and saw down below where our campsite was at, I thought it was pretty cool but at that moment, I was hungry and wanted nothing but food.
Down below a meadow, that's where Fernwood is and look further to the end of the valley/land lies the Pacific Ocean.
Yum, animal cookies...
zonk!
Dad's gentle lull rocking as he walked, animal cookies and lots of new sights absorbed, I slept hard-- "dead to the world" as some would say.
That night we all hung out at the camp fire, ate hearty meals and I got to play at the sand area with Daddy for hours. I, again, slept long and hard after an exhilarating day. I don't know why but I really sleep much better at camp than I do when I'm at home.
The next day was a special day because it was my Mommy's day! We woke up really early and it was sooooo freezing, even cold for me, and despite the warmth of our tent, I wanted out. Mom, Dad and I tried to warm ourselves up by walking around in Fernwood which wasn't hit with the sunlight. Cold and nearly frozen, we three decided to hop into Dad's car and went out for a drive.
It was a great decision. We happened to find the Pfiffer beach and nobody else was there. It normally would have been overpopulated with foreign tourists. It was so early, not even 8 in the morning, when we got to the beach. As a result, we basically, had the beach all to ourselves as if we owned it. I'll let the pictures speak of itself.
Mom and me on Mom's day. I love her sooo very much, don't you too? I mean, who wouldn't??
Waves were crashing here and there every second or two... I was scared at first because this was my first time EVER to be near a beach.
Us three on the beach.
Daddy and me making footprints as we head over to the other end. We didn't go all the way because it was windy and cold.
See? The beach to ourselves.
At the "corner" of the beach, there was this cool rocky hill ontop of the water. In the middle, a hole, would burst with waves every few seconds. It made great sounds as if nature had her own song.
Whooosh!
The water was clear too and you could see the white sand at the bottom of the water.
The corner "panoramic" view of the beach.
We walked back to our car and saw this view from the path towards the beach. That rocky hill with the hole in the middle truly dominated the beach.
On the way to and back from the beach, there were private homes on the 2 miles of a windy road. Several were ranches with horses and we got to stop and pet them. I was surprised that the horses immediately came up to me and wanted to be pet.
Wow, I'm petting it!
Daddy! Did you see that?!
Alright. I do have a lot more pictures to share but they're not with me right now. I'll definitely blog them as soon as I get them.
Mom and Dad, take me camping soon please? I already miss the air, the smell of the campfire smoke and mostly, the freedom I had to walk just about anywhere.
MWAH!
